BaxEnergy achieves a Microsoft Gold Cloud Platform and DevOps Competency

A leading European energy software provider demonstrates best-in-class capability and market leadership through technology success and customer commitment.

BaxEnergy today announced it has attained a gold Cloud Platform and DevOps competency, demonstrating a “best-in-class” ability and commitment to meet Microsoft Corp. customers’ evolving needs in today’s mobile-first, cloud-first world and distinguishing itself within Microsoft’s partner ecosystem.

To earn a Microsoft gold competency, partners must successfully complete exams (resulting in Microsoft Certified Professionals) to prove their level of technology expertise, and then designate these certified professionals uniquely to one Microsoft competency, ensuring a certain level of staffing capacity. They also must submit customer references that demonstrate successful projects, meet a performance (revenue and or consumption/usage) commitment (for most gold competencies), and pass technology and/or sales assessments.

BaxEnergy focuses on delivering intelligent solutions to monitor and control the production cycle of renewable power plants, combined with turnkey solutions for industrial data collection and analysis.

The company offers its customers the open, flexible, intelligent, and secure platform Energy Studio Pro® (ESP), which facilitates control and monitoring of power plants, ensuring that independent power producers and other involved parties optimize processes, obtain significant energy savings, and cut costs.

BaxEnergy uses Microsoft Azure to deploy ESP®, which provides a modern approach when software design patterns are used, such as micro-service patterns that better match cloud-native architecture. From a DevOp point of view, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) improves and facilitates on-premises deployment of Energy Studio Pro®, making the installation of ESP®’s instances on customers’ internal machines in their data center easier and quicker. Thanks to automatic Azure management of the software infrastructure and installation, developers can save time and focus on domain logic and other matters.

Energy Studio Pro® is used by power plant executives, O&M managers, and field technicians. The platform integrates with external power forecasting, energy trading, and price prediction systems. Energy Studio Pro® is now being extended outside the field of renewable energy to cover monitoring of e-vehicle charging stations, gas turbines, combined cycle power plants, and liquid hydrogen production facilities. Prospective positioning includes also smart cities, transportation, and telecom systems.

“We’re extremely honored to be recognized as a Microsoft Gold partner. This acknowledgment underscores BaxEnergy’s proficiency and expertise in both DevOps and Cloud Platform. At BaxEnergy, we have a solid track of managing and displaying both real-time and historical data coming from a wide range of power plants. Thanks to Microsoft, this process has been made smoother and easier,” said Simone Massaro, BaxEnergy CEO.

“By achieving a Gold competency, partners have demonstrated the highest, most consistent capability and commitment to the latest Microsoft technology,” said Gavriella Schuster, corporate vice president, One Commercial Partner (OCP) at Microsoft Corp. “These partners have a deep expertise that puts them in the top of our partner ecosystem, and their proficiency will help customers drive innovative solutions.”

BaxEnergy’s Gold Partner Status is achieved for its Cloud Platform and DevOps capabilities. The achievement highlights the company’s ability to successfully deliver cloud services, including machine learning, data streaming, and IoT data collection.

The Microsoft Partner Network helps partners strengthen their capabilities to showcase leadership in the marketplace on the latest technology, to better serve customers and to easily connect with one of the most active, diverse networks in the world.
