BaxEnergy attends SkillZone Program in Rome
Rome/Italy, February 2017: BaxEnergy joins the first European edition of the SkillZone Program that addresses the new challenges of Big Data and the evolution to the Internet of Things
SkillZone – IoT Data Analyst is the first European Pilot of the Program that from November 2016 until June 2017 is connecting industry leaders, experts and students in a full-time learning experience that addresses the emerging challenges of the new digitized era. As industry innovator, BaxEnergy has been invited to join the program as member of the Advisory Board that brings together industry experts such as Enel, IBM and STMicroelectronics.
SkillZone education program aims at developing the necessary and unique set of skills students need to build a successful career in the dynamic digital industry. Discovering the power of Big Data and the fast-growing evolution to the Internet of Things (IoT) is the topic at the heart of this seven-month learning experience.
“Today, data volume and data sources are multiplying as more and more devices can be connected to a network, communicating to each other and transmitting the information they gather” says Dr. Francesco Di Giunta, R&D Manager at BaxEnergy, and continues: “While this digital revolution opens incredible opportunities for progress, it is also brings significant challenges in the near future with billions of smart objects connected by 2020. The seminar presented by BaxEnergy will bring students’ attention on the application of advanced data analysis techniques to BigData coming from power plants in order to perform predictive maintenance. We aim at combining academic concepts with the innovative solutions and the latest-cutting edge technologies we are developing in our R&D Center in Italy. The class will cover the fundamentals of a data center system, understating how to detect, stores and collects industrial data, moving later on the prediction of device breakdown on the basis of current evidence.”
