To respond to EGP RSA multiple needs about increasing power plants’ efficiency and operating them in a cost-effective way, BaxEnergy has deployed a large scale Local Control Room (LCR), located in company headquarters’ data-center, where is set-up Energy Studio Pro, making easy data acquisition and integration from any source and type of power plant, giving back homogenous visions of heterogeneous renewable portfolios.

Aiming to enhance the knowledge base and background awareness about Energy Studio Pro full capabilities, BaxEnergy team has held three days of users-training – from August 28th to 31st – for the LCR managers and operators as well as to data analysts and SCADA technicians. Focus of the training was exploring ESP Dashboard both Real-Time and Historical, going deeper into solution’s architectural schema and in each of its modules, from downtime and data analytics to alarm server, from workflow management to reporting system. The training, designed to be interactive and based on theoretical and practical class sessions, envisaged at its end an examination proof with the double goal of checking concepts fulfillment and scheduling further updates.

“We are more than satisfied of overall training accomplishment and user-audience’s interactions during class activities”, proudly affirms Mr. Carlo Tita, BaxEnergy Project Manager who continues saying: “Attention and interest were always very high, questions accurate and they all succeeded, becoming more familiar with ESP complex features. All in all, the final results are very positive, laying the groundwork for further meetings like this that help us to better understand customer’s unique needs while supporting LCR personnel to fully exploit solution’s capabilities, having back 100% benefits”.

EGP RSA project represents one of the cornerstones implemented by BaxEnergy in the African Continent offering to the company custom screens focused on solar inverter, known as HMI inverter, and advanced analytical tools such as the photovoltaic map with real-time data and string monitoring. The PV map allows to visually spot inverters and strings that have faults or are underperforming directing the technician to the exact location where the fault is occurring or the underperformance is detected, tacking also advantage of daily reports to better monitor devices status.

While Africa is revolutionizing its energy system at a very high speed, Enel Green Power is boosting its renewable portfolio projecting new solar and wind power plants across the Country as well as integrating – by the end of 2017 – new wind farms totaling 111 MW of installed capacity into Energy Studio Pro, thus strengthening the collaboration with BaxEnergy, both committed to bring a light of innovation blowing South Africa.
