BaxEnergy launches Convera™ PPC at EM-Power Europe 2026: any asset, any vendor, one operating logic

A software-defined, vendor-agnostic Power Plant Controller engineered for hybrid energy infrastructures, BESS integration and advanced grid services.

Acireale, Italy, June 23, 2026 – Most plant controllers were designed when a power plant meant a single asset class -a wind farm, a solar park, a hydro plant, a thermal power plant or any other single-technology asset-  feeding predictable output to a stable grid. Convera™ PPC, BaxEnergy’s new convergent Power Plant Controller, unveiling this June at EM-Power Europe in Munich, has been designed for the opposite reality: a plant that combines wind, solar, batteries and grid services at a single point of coupling and is expected to operate them as one coordinated system and toward multiple revenue streams.

BaxEnergy will introduce Convera™ PPC at “The smarter E Europe” exhibition, from June 23 to 25 at Messe München (Hall B5, Booth 453). The product is the next evolution of BaxEnergy’s PPC platform and the visible commercial output of 15 years building software for energy operators across more than 140 GW of capacity under management, 2000+ power plants and 30+ countries.

Across global markets, hybrid plants are no longer pilot configurations: they are the default project shape for new build, driven by capex efficiency, grid-services revenue stacking and tightening interconnection codes. Convera™ PPC has been engineered to operate these plants as the integrated systems they are.

Its software-defined, vendor-agnostic architecture enables unified control across heterogeneous assets within a single operating environment, independent of OEM, scale or technology mix. The platform extends traditional plant control beyond deterministic execution and grid compliance toward real-time orchestration across multiple technologies and energy resources.

Designed for large-scale and hybrid energy infrastructures, Convera™ PPC introduces capabilities that include:

  • Dynamic energy shifting and BESS-aware control strategies;
  • Fast Frequency Response and synthetic inertia support;
  • Hierarchical coordination across multiple PPCs for scalable, distributed deployment;
  • Intelligent dispatch strategies that align energy flows with grid signals and market conditions.

Together, these capabilities allow operators to maximize asset utilization, capture stacked revenue streams and run complex portfolios with the consistency of a single control layer.

While Convera™ PPC operates at plant level, its grid-facing capabilities are engineered for the priorities of transmission and distribution system operators. As TSOs and DSOs confront declining synchronous inertia, rising distributed energy resource penetration and tighter balancing windows, the quality of plant-level control becomes a structural variable of grid stability not only of asset performance. Convera™ PPC supports compliance with evolving grid-code requirements worldwide, programmable response to ancillary-service signals and standardized integration with system operator control architectures.

“For 15 years, BaxEnergy has helped operators see their portfolios as one. With Convera™ PPC, we now let them control their portfolios as one. The convergence between renewables, storage and grid services is no longer a roadmap item it’s an operational reality and operators need a controller designed for that reality from day one, with native OT cybersecurity not bolted-on protection,” said Roberto Tundo, CEO of BaxEnergy.

BaxEnergy welcomes visitors at Hall B5, Booth 453  -from independent power producers and asset owners to transmission and distribution system operators and industrial energy users-  to explore the company’s integrated ecosystem of solutions spanning Asset Performance Management, Grid Control, OT Cybersecurity and Digital Transformation and to see how BaxEnergy helps mission-critical organizations across the energy value chain turn operational complexity into control.
