BaxEnergy teams up with Microsoft at the IoT- hackfest 2017 in Berlin

Berlin/Germany, July 2017: During a one-week hackfest, BaxEnergy and Microsoft worked together to build a new architecture design using the cloud to process large volume of data coming from renewable power plants scattered Worldwide.

In the fast-growing energy market, data volume and data sources are multiplying as more and more devices can be connected to a network. By anticipating the industry’s new trends, BaxEnergy has outgrown the traditional data warehouse infrastructure, developing secure and independent data acquisition chain able to collect, store and process large amounts of data coming from any kind of renewable assets.
As Microsoft partner and member of the ISV Executive Board, BaxEnergy has been invited to join the Ascend Plus Program dedicated to explore and extend the power of the latest technologies to make hybrid cloud and edge IoT solutions a reality.
By combing expertise, knowledge and experience, BaxEnergy and Microsoft worked together during one-week workshop in Berlin with the aim to build a Lambda architecture that allows power plant’s owners to define “data in motion” and “data in rest” approaches used in the energy sector to deliver real-time monitoring systems. Thus, relying on key technologies such as Azure IoT Hub, Service Bus, SQL Database, the idea behind the project was implementing a new scenario covering the wide spectrum of high quality solutions, from real-time data stream processing to predictive analysis.
