More Enerji selects BaxEnergy as strategic partner

Intelligent technologies serving Turkish Renewable Energy Action Plan

March 20th, 2020. BaxEnergy and More Enerji have established a new strategic partnership. Through the agreement, BaxEnergy will provide More Enerji with cutting-edge solutions such as Energy Studio Pro® and Assetstack® to visualize, analyze and optimize wind power plants’ data and to store all power plants’ lifecycle information, operations and activities in a single repository.

Although the last months of 2019 have represented a delicate political period for Turkey, the country has highlighted the importance of investments in the energy field. Turkey has revised its renewable energy target for 2023 by providing measures to increase the share of clean energy production from 31% to over 50% by 2023. The Turkish Renewable Energy Action Plan envisages the use of domestic energy sources, including wind, solar and geothermal energy, as well as additional renewable sources through a series of public procurements for solar plants, with a total capacity of 3 gigawatts (GW) and with an expected investment of almost 4.8 billion dollars.

Just in 2019, Turkish investments in renewables have allowed for the construction of Wind Power Plants producing 8056,55 MW and with more 1309,79MW which are currently under construction. According to TWEA president Hakan Yıldırım, former CEO of SGRE Turkey, the country’s Wind Power Plants capacity will reach 10295,00MW by the end of 2020.

Energy efficiency is of fundamental importance for a country like Turkey, which is not rich in conventional energy resources and mostly relies on importing energy to supply the country’s demand. The Plan includes 55 actions to develop energy efficiency measures in various sectors of industry, transport, construction, agriculture and energy production and transformation. Investments of nearly 10.9 billion dollars are expected by 2023 and 20,000 people are expected to be employed in the energy sector, from the extractive industry to renewables and from the upstream to natural gas.

With this agreement, BaxEnergy is committed to support More Enerji in the expansion of the operations throughout the territory, contributing to the digital transformation and eco-sustainable development of Turkey.
