The INNOMOB Project by Intellisync for Intelligent Mobility Presented at the University of Messina

On July 3, 2025, during the “Bandi a Cascata” event organized within the European SAMOTHRACE project (ECS00000022), Intellisync presented the INNOMOB project – Innovative Digital Strategies for Sustainable and Intelligent Mobility at the University of Messina.

During the presentation, Eng. Simone Massaro, CEO and legal representative of Intellisync, outlined the objectives, results, and future perspectives of the developed solution, selected within the Smart Mobility Pillar of SAMOTHRACE.

INNOMOB was created to address the need for more effective and accessible tools for monitoring road infrastructure. The solution enables the detection of road surface anomalies—such as potholes, depressions, and surface irregularities—by leveraging sensors already integrated into smartphones and wearable devices.

Through the analysis of data collected during driving—such as vibrations and acceleration variations detected by inertial sensors—the system is able to identify critical issues across the road network without the need for dedicated instrumentation or manual inspections. Each vehicle thus becomes a mobile sensor serving the city, contributing to predictive maintenance, improved road safety, and the development of increasingly intelligent and sustainable urban mobility.

During the presentation, a demonstration video was shown illustrating the first prototype of the INNOMOB platform, the functionalities of the mobile app for automatic data collection during driving, and the interactive dashboard, which allows operators to visualize road conditions on a map based on user-collected data.

With INNOMOB, Intellisync reaffirms its commitment to developing high-impact digital solutions capable of generating tangible benefits. The combination of advanced technologies, active user involvement, and collaboration with academia represents a replicable model of applied innovation, aligned with the digital transformation and sustainability goals promoted at the European level.
